Gordon's Cup

Gordon's Cup

April 16, 2021

The Gordon’s Cup is featured in the book A Spot at the Bar and it’s an incredibly simple cocktail that screams spring! It’s so refreshing and fresh that you may have a hard time drinking it slowly. The cucumber and lime are a perfect pairing and our vibrant Raspberry Coriander shrub plays off of the overall brightness perfectly. This cocktail is perfect right now, but would not disappoint in the heat of summer either. The salt and pepper garnish may sound strange but take our word for it that it’s the essential extra touch that cucumber needs.

RECIPE

Gordon’s Cup

Ready in 3 minutes

Serves 1 drink

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Gin
  • ½ oz Raspberry Coriander Shrub
  • ¾ oz 1/1 Simple Syrup
  • 5 chunks of Lime
  • 6 - ¼ inch Slices of Cucumber, reserve 3 for garnish
  • Sea Salt and Black Pepper

Preparation

  1. Place cucumber and lime chunks(slice lime in half and then quarter each half, you should have eight chunks of lime when done) into a cocktail shaker and muddle.
  2. Add the simple syrup, gin, and ice to the cocktail shaker.
  3. Shake until well chilled.
  4. Double strain into a double rocks glass over ice.
  5. Add the remaining cucumber slices to the top and sprinkle a pinch of sea salt and black pepper

Tips

You can add the simple syrup to the cocktail shaker along with the cucumber and limes, this might make the muddling process a little smoother.
