We want to walk people through how to make various types of common simple syrup varieties which are a great addition to many cocktails. Virtually every type of simple syrup we walk you through in this post is extremely "simple"! Recipe order is:
Simple syrup is named so because that's exactly what it is! Two ingredients thrown together, BOOM, you're ready to go. As a sweetening agent for cocktails it doesn't add much to the drink other than balance and, you guessed it; sweetness.
Honey is a fantastic addition to cocktails because it has so much variation and flavor. Each honey you get will be slightly different which a part of the fun of making your own honey simple syrup. Doing so gives you the freedom to use the honey you love most!
If you were to try and use honey in a cocktail without making a simple syrup you would have a damn near impossible time of getting it to incorporate into your bevvy. That is unless you want to shake your cocktail all night. I don't, so I wanted to provide you with the information to make it so you can use honey in any drink. Just be warned that since it is so flavorful it will change the flavor profile of your cocktail, so experiment and play with it until you find a ratio you like. Honey makes for one heck of a great alternative sweetener to cane sugar!!
There are some cocktails which specifically call for honey simple syrup such as the Brown Derby Cocktail.
Anyways! They're all super simple to make at home, it's essentially equal parts water and sweetener.

All of the simple syrups listed above should last for about the month in the fridge.
Since simple syrup lasts so long it's a great thing to make ahead of when you need it so it's ready whenever you are. However, if you're in a pinch unflavored simple syrup and honey simple syrup can be made on demand. Just mix equal parts sweetener and hot water, then build your cocktail on top of that.

Interesting products and recipes. I purchased a lemon ginger shrub from you alwhile ago. It was before the shutdown for the virus so I am wondering if it is still usable. It has been in my fridge all this time, i have used about 1/2 of the bottle. I am inteested in trying different flavors, but I am not an alcahol drinker. Anywasy, thanks for this product. It enhanced my digestion.
