The Kentucky Buck is an extremely accessible bourbon cocktail. To wrap up our little month of bourbon cocktails we figured, what could be better? It’s got tons of fruit forward flavor with a nice little hint of spice from the ginger simple syrup. The bourbon comes in to add a lot of warm depth to a cool drink, but blends into the mix instead of being a pronounced flavor. Since more fruit is coming into season this is a perfect time to whip up one of these beauties. Refreshing and delicious, good luck stopping at one. And once you’ve made yourself the ginger simple syrup, you can add it to sparkling water with a splash of *place favorite shrub here* and you’ve got yourself a healthy soda alternative you can enjoy all day!

Serves 1 drink
Tap the fine mesh strainer with the bottom of the cocktail shaker once the strainer is full. This tapping helps to jostle the liquids through the mesh strainer faster.
If you let the ginger steep longer the ginger “spice” will be more pronounced. Taste the mix as the time goes on to get it just right for your preferences.
