Nothing screams fall like cider. The only thing this Shrubbie is missing is a side of some donuts. This is one of those hot bevvys that keeps you coming back for more. Hearty and flavorful, there’s almost nothing better on a cold night. Snuggle up, light a fire, and turn on a movie, or grab a book. The Spiced Apple Shrubbie is sure to suck you into the couch while thinking, “maybe cold weather ain’t all bad”. 

Spiced Cider

Ready in 20-30 minutes

Serves approximately 16 drinks


  • Spiced Cider
    • 1 Gallon Apple Cider
    • 1 Stick of Cinnamon
    • 1 Nutmeg or 1 tsp
    • Pinch of Clove
    • ¼ tsp Allspice
    • 1 Inch Ginger sliced or chopped
    • 1 Orange sliced
  • Spiced Cider Shrubbie
    • .5-2 oz Dark Rum or Bourbon
    • ½ oz Spiced Apple Shrub
    • 8 oz hot Spiced Cider
    • Garnish with Orange Zest and/or Cinnamon Stick


  1. Spiced Cider
  • Pour cider into a pot and place on the stove over medium heat.
  • Cut ginger and orange and add to cider.
  • Add the rest of the ingredients into pot
  • Let come to a simmer and turn down to low heat.
  • Let the cider heat for 15-30 minutes.
  • Spiced Cider Shrubbie
  • Pour alcohol and Spiced Apple shrub into a mug or thick walled cup..
  • Add hot cider on top.
  • Add garnish
  • Sit back on a nice cold evening and let this wonderful Shrubbie warm you right up!


The Spiced Cider is fantastic on it’s own, makes for a great drink with or without any alcohol!

The Spiced Cider will store well if you don’t want to drink a whole gallon at once. Just pour back into your gallon container and throw it into the fridge, this will last for a week or so. When you want to use it again just pull it out and heat it back up.
