We got the idea for this off of junglehaus.cocktails Instagram, and once we saw it we knew we had to share it. They made a riff of a tiki cocktail which plays together oh so well. As a little added spunk on an already unique drink, we threw a touch of our Blueberry Lemon Shrub into the mix. It came out wonderful. Fruity with a little spice from the rye whiskey, and it wouldn’t be a tiki drink without a little Orgeat. We love this Shrubbie because it doesn’t come off as overtly sweet and has many layers of complexity.
RECIPE
Surf Liner
Ready in 5 minutes
Serves 1 drink
Ingredients
- 2 oz Rye Whiskey
- 1 oz Pineapple Juice
- ¾ oz Lemon Juice
- ¾ oz Orgeat
- ½ oz Blueberry Lemon Shrub
- 2 Dashes Peychauds Bitters
Preparation
- Place all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Shake until nice and cold.
- Strain into a glass filled with crushed ice.
- No need for a garnish.
- Take a big ol' glug, and relish in your hard work!
