The South Side

The South Side is a delicious little riff off of a Mojito. The gin adds some nice floral notes to the drink that rum doesn’t add in the original. It’s a light and bright drink that’s very spring. Easy to throw together and perfectly refreshing on a hot day or at the end of one. While the original South Side is great as is, when you add a little bit of our Lemon Ginger Shrub to the mix this drink is sure to impress. Without further ado, muddle, mix, and make yourself happy with a perfect spring drink!


South Side

Ready in 3 minutes

Serves 1 drink



  1. Take fresh mint leaves and add them to a cocktail shaker and muddle.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients to the cocktail shaker with ice.
  3. Shake until well chilled.
  4. Double strain into a Collins glass over fresh ice.
  5. Take a little sip which will turn into a gulp and fall in love.


When muddling the mint you don’t need to pulverize the herbs. The goal is to break the cell walls in the leaves to release all the good stuff, a few good press and turns of a muddler should suffice.
